These are how my witch boots turned out. LOVE'M!

Is it weird that this wreath is hanging on my bedroom door? But these colors match my room perfectly.

A little detail makes the arch stand out more.

My scarecrow from last year. Made out of a glass shower block. It is amazing the fun things you can do with shower blocks.

My latest project: this is my huge wall going down the stairs and it was empty and I added this frame I painted red.

Then I added our own family word play. It turned out really cute and was harder than I thought it would be. But I am still not done with this wall....still more to come!

Fall Crafts

Fall is my favorite season and I couldn't wait to get out my decor and get some crafts going. I have heard about making these yarn balls with glue and balloons and have always wanted to try it. So I did. Lets just say that water balloons are very hard to blow up and pop easily, so dont use them. Also this red yarn was very thick and was not so easy to work with. Plus this is very messy so I only made four and now I can say that I tried it but if I ever do it again I will be doing it differently:)

This is a project I have been working on for a while and even longer in my head. It is our chore chart. I should have gotten a closer pic but the boys colored the little pic of the chores and I magnet them under their names. When they are done they hang them on the hook to the side. It turned out super cute but now I don't know where to hang it in my house! Should have thought about that 1st.

My old milk can got some fall flowers and ribbon plus a welcome sign to stick on my front porch.

My husband is awesome. I asked him for these crates one day and he jumped right on it! They turned out super cute, I just love them. And now that October is here I can't wait to get my Halloween out.

My fall wreath was sooo easy and fast. I went to the $ store and got a cheap wreath. Then I went to Walmart and bought the fabric squares for making things. I like these fabric squares cuz the colors are all ready matching and all put together. So I cut up the strips of fabric and tied them around the wreath. THAT IS IT! Took about 15 minutes to do and so I made two.
I have lots of other little projects I am working on in my home and in my mind. Hopefully I can get some more done soon!

October's Craft- Back to Crafting

I don't know about you but I think it feels like its time to get back into some crafting! My house is done, my baby is here, kids are back in school and it's going to be winter soon and lets face it, it's just time! I found some fun wood crafts from one of my favorites The Wood Connection. But if we know or see something fun that you would like to do then let me know. Also I have teamed up with Jessica Peck to do somethings together or she will do one and I will do one. We will just figure out things as we go and what we find. I also know that there are a lot of new gals that would probably be interested in coming and crafting but I don't have emails or numbers so please feel free to pass the word along.

I love Halloween so we are starting with that so I would like to do these cute witch boots. They will be $7.00 each boot so you can get one boot or a pair for $14.00. That includes all the paint, paper, wood, ribbon and all the additions. We will be making them some time the first week of Oct. I haven't got a date yet but we have to order these ahead of time cuz it is their busy time of year. So I need to know by this Sunday Sept. 4th if you would like to do this. So call/text me or email me.

Valentines Wreath

I found a couple of wreaths that would be really cute for Valentines Day. This one is made of cupcake papers just folded and pinned into a foam wreath shape.
I made one of the other wreaths I found and it turned out very cute. Plus it was really easy. Cut out 3 inch circles of felt. Fold the circle in half and fold again. Then pin the corner into a foam heart wreath. It takes a little time but it turns out very cute. You need about 3/4 of a yard of felt.

I added a little ribbon and I love it! I am still working on a pink one too!

Valentines Dinner

Our ward had a Valentines Dinner/Dance and I was asked to decorate a table. I might have got a little carried away but it was a lot of fun! This is my table. Thanks to Sarah for letting me barrow her white dinner plates and to Donna for the mirror.

The red salad plates I got at Kmart. Those little boxes I already had and filled with Hugs & Kisses with a thought on love. On the outside it says, "Fortune of Love." I also including another love thought where the seat assignment would be just for conversation or whatever. I have a whole book with love thoughts and I have always wanted to use it so this was my chance. The place setting is just black cardstock paper and the goblets I found at the $ store, along with the napkin ring. I added a little ribbon to each of those to dress them up a bit.

The glass tubes I already had. I filled them up with water and fake rose petals. Then added a little ribbon to those too. The glass rocks I also had but found them at the $ store. The table turned out beautiful.

For all of you who would like to make the XOXO's it is really easy and you'll love it.
I visited my local $ store to pick up some frames. If you find ones that are not black already just spray paint them. Also the glass beads I found there but you can find them at Walmart or your local craft store. Next you need some Valentines Day paper that you really love and put it where you would put the pic. Next just hot glue your beads into X's & O's, a heart, or LOVE. I added a little ribbon or flowers just for a little extra.

Halloween Ideas

Our Spooky Tree.
It is really easy. Paint and Decorate your pot. Spray paint some twigs or branches. Then tie on Halloween pictures, spooks, and ghosts. Whatever you want with Halloween ribbon. Fill your pot with rocks or sand anything to keep it down. Very cute and easy but I still haven't figured out how I am gonna store and keep it for next year.

My friend Jen A. had these really cute blocks in her house so my sister-in-law and another friend wanted to make some. They made me one and it turned out so cute!!! Thanks so much Jen and Sarah.

Baby Blocks

For a baby shower I made these blocks that I ordered from Close To My Heart and then you decorate each side. The front says Skyler the babies name. They turned out very cute but were a lot of work.
On one of the other sides it says, " All Boy"

All the colors are the colors that match the babies room. Perfect for a little shelf.

Sew Not For Me!!!

Summer is gone and I have been a slacker at posting but that doesn't mean that I haven't been busy! I discovered something this summer... That sewing is not for me! I have sewn a couple things in my day but have never been very good at it. I finally finished my sons quilt and now my boys beds match and look really cute! I have been working on that project for a while but putting it off cuz I really dis-like sewing! I know that some people do it to relax or for the fun of it but I got a headache the whole time and realized that I clench my jaw and hold my breath while I do it!

My mother-in-law made these really cute pillows that match out of the scraps for each bed. Thanks Carol!

Then for some reason even after I had finished that project I wanted another fun quilt to throw around, take camping or to the park. So I started another quilt! This is more like my style, rag-tie. It doesn't have to be perfect or straight. I don't think I used one pin on this whole thing. For the regular quilter this is probably a mess but I love it and it is perfect for me!

And my boys love it too!

Although they both turned out very cute I packed my sewing machine away and I am gladly bowing out of the sewing world. Good Bye!

Patriotic Fun

This is my most recent project, Cross Stitch. I have never done it before and so I am a little slower but I wanted it done for the 4th but I will take it with me this week on our family trip and hopefully it will get finished. Surprisingly it isn't as hard as I have always thought it would be, infact it is fun. I might have to do some more.
This is what it will hopefully look like when I am done. Yeah! I am learning something new.

Something fun for the the patriotic weekend or just for the summer, decorate your water bottle. It is easy to spot yours and even let the kids decorate their own so you can reuse it and they know which one is theirs!

Cards

Here are a couple of cards that I have recently made that I wanted to put on but just haven't had the chance. This one I really loved the stamp set with silloettes of women. It was a great Mother's Day card but would work with any occasion.
This is a Birthday card we used a couple of ways to texturize the pieces. The brown piece we crumpled into a ball and then flattened it out and sanded the top. We ripped the stripped piece. On the little blue square piece we took a razor or edger and ran it across the edge to distress it. Then the final was running your ink on the edges of the card to scuff it up or distress it also.

This was an easy Father's Day Card. If you had all the pieces cut out you could even let your kids glue them all on the paper and do it themselves. They turned out really cute.

Home Decor

This is what I did with my clipboards. I had a shadow box with the boys pictures in them but I hated changing the picture because it was a hassel. I love this though cuz I can change the pic easily just clip it in.

So I remodeled my kitchen but never finished this one wall I have to decorate. I have been buying things little by little and was just waiting on the hubby to build my shelf. Which he did! I painted it and glazed it to match all my cabinets. You can't tell but I also distressed it or in other words beat the heck out of the shelf so the glaze took to all the dings. It turned out very cute! The metal square thing I got at, All That Stuff In The Barn which is in Midway Utah. I love it cuz I can put up a pic or recipe with cute magnets. The rooster I got at Tai Pan, what more do you have to say about that other than we love Tai Pan! My clock was oak color and I spray painted it, then took sand paper to the edges for a distressed look. This one wall adds so much to my little kitchen. I love it!

Just a Couple of Things

Here is a graduation card that I recently made that turned out really cute. I like the black and white ink cuz it gives it the affect of a chalk board and the little rolled up paper like a certification of graduation. The stamp if you can't read it says, "The future belongs to those who believe in the beauty of their Dreams." -Eleanor Roosevelt

So I have seen these cute sandals and I decided to try them. They are really easy to make it just takes time. I did it with water balloons which were really small and my fingers hurt after a while but it adds some color to the outfit. I kind of feel like a little girl wearing them so they would probably be better for them but since I made them, I am going to wear them!

This is a fun idea that is easy. We did it for our Scrapbook Club and will probably do it in our ward too. Just mod podge paper to a clipboard. Any pattern turns out really cute. We added buttons and ribbon. Also add one long piece of ribbon and tie on a pen, comes in handy. These are a couple that Jen and Alison made. Thanks a lot for your help!

Kitchen Remodel

This mess was not only mine but Reed's also! He painted my garbage can and I loved it so I had a crazy idea that maybe we could do the same thing to the kitchen and Reed was all for it! (He will tell you it was his idea) So this is my kitchen before and within 30 minutes we had it cleared out and all the doors off.

We painted the walls red and it took a couple of coats cuz the first color had really dark purples in it but I love what we ended up with and yes Reed did pick it out. On the doors we cut bead board and glued it down on top of what we already had. We primed all the cupboards and doors and then painted all of them. Afterwards we finished them with a brown glaze.

This was our kitchen during the processes. Reed is taking a rest. Actually he had most of it done by time I came back from being with family! It was awesome. He is such a stud!!!

We also added knobs and handles. This is a finished cupboard up close.

Who knew you can redecorate a whole kitchen around a garbage can.

Finished product! and I love it. Total I think we spent $100

Does Anyone Want One?

Ok this isn't really a craft at least not mine but Reed and Brook are making these really nice garbage cans. They can also be used as laundry hampers or storage for about anything.

They are selling them for $75.00 if anyone would like one just let me know and they can make you one. You could paint it any color you wanted to match any room.
The pictures make them look a little small but they are pretty big. It is almost the same size as the standard dishwasher.

Enchrichments Crafter's Corner for April

I now have more fun things for my Craft Blogn' I am helping for Enchrichment in the ward with our Crafter's Corner every month. For April we are starting off easy with these fun Happy Birthday blocks. We put them up in our family on each persons birthday. They are a fun decoration to have and use multiple times throughout the year.
These are very simple one. Reed is cutting the 2x4 into 13 blocks. We will then sand the corners and edges. After you are done sanding add some paint, whatever color/s you would like. Then we are going to take some 12x12 paper and cut the letters out with the circut. Last is to mod podge your letters on the blocks. Easy and simple. You can emblish them if you would like or get more creative with the paint colors and paper.

Easter Crafts By Madalyn

My sister-in-law Madalyn made these really cute Easter decor for her home. They turned out awesome! I think she got the ideas off of tipjunkie.blogspot.com they always have good ideas.
Also I have been in search of Wheat grass seed. You can plant it a couple of weeks before Easter and have beautiful green grass in pots, planters, or even in an Easter basket if you would like. So I found some seed on www.wheatgrasskits.com I got 5 lbs of seed for about $16.00 with includes shipping. That is a lot of seed so go in with a friend or two. They come in 1 lbs bags and I ordered mine and had it within a week. It usually grows very fast like within 10 days. So plant now and it could be nice and thick for Easter. I have seen people have it and heard about people doing it but I have never actually tried it. So this is the year! I will let you know how it goes.

Block for the Holidays

My friend sells these really cute bows and was having a bow party so at the last minute I asked if I could put a craft in it and then I put my husband to work. He cut all these blocks and sanded them all too. I painted them and then cut paper some greens and browns for St. Patricks Day and spring paper for Easter and Modge podged it on.

Then I used Jen's Circut to cut letters out. One side says, "Hoppy Easter" and the other side says, "Luck O' the Irish" I also emblished them. They turned out really cute and I made some money.

Beans and a Shamrock

I was at Walmart and saw this bag of beans and it brought back memories of when I was little. We used to play with beans and make all sorts of things so I got a bag and the kids glued them to a Shamrock they had fun and it was easy. Plus beans can be used for about a million different activities.

Shoelaces for my ABC's

So I bought this really cute little 6x6 flip book from CTMH and I was trying to figure out something I could really do with it other than a little scrapbook and this is what I came up with. So I cut cardstock into 6x6 sheets and cut letters out with the circut, then glued them on. I also printed little colored pics for each letter and glued them on also. Afterwards I laminated or put contact paper over the whole thing and punched holes into the letters. Now you can take the shoelaces and string through the letters. My kids seemed to like it and they are learning to recognize letters. Also it is something quiet for church. When they are done playing with one we just slide it back into the flip book.

CTMH for February-Valentine Pillow Box

This is our fun activity for February at CTMH club! It is a 3-D pillow box. I actually couldn't find them at a craft store so we did our own. But I am sure you can find them out there somewhere! We added our Valentine Day stamps to it for color. The ribbon is just ricrac with a photo hanger then the decorative pin holds it in place. We added a little ribbon with a tag and make sure you don't forget to fill it with candy!
This month we are featuring these new decorative pins called Pretty Pins. You get 12- 2 1/8" pins (6 of 2 designs) for $4.25. They are on page 29 of the Product Idea Book Spring 2009. These Pretty Pins can embelish any project!

They also feature others and their ideas or products. They did a Valentine Day segement with ideas that were so simple and cute. Friendship Quilt

I was recently put into our Young Womens Presidency and our awesome new Pres. did this idea to make a Friendship Quilt in another ward, but we loved it so much we are going to attempt it with our Young Women. This idea you could also do with Relief Society(small one), Family, and Friends. So here are the instructions which you could change according to the size you want and amount of people involved.

You will need to provide 12 blocks. They will need to be cut out at 16x16 inches. They can all be identical or each unique. That is up to you. Your name needs to be somewhere on each block. Remember that 1/2 inch around the block will be used for a seem so decorate accordingly. You will keep one block and give one block to each of the other girls and leaders. So you will each end up with enough squares to make a quilt. One each from each person. Then we will get together and finish them. For Young Womens we are providing the batting and back, which will just be a solid simple sheet from the store. But if you were doing this as family or friends you could just supply your own and then finish or tie them together. It is really fun to see what each person does on their own. We haven't finished ours yet I will post again when we have the finished project but these are pics of my squares.

Valentines Day/ Anniversary

So I decided that one of my goals is to make birthday cards and anniversary cards and get one to everyone this year. So I made this anniversary card last night that was way fast and easy and it turned out so cute! But it would also be a very cute card for Valentines Day.

Monthly Calendar

For Christmas Jen ordered these Calendars from Close To My Heart and they are blank, you add your own creativeness. She made these for presents for grandparents and added pictures of the grandkids and things that happened thoughout the year. Then she added a birthday cake stamp on days that there is a birthday and a wine glass for anniversaries. It turned out so cute!!! If you start working on it this year it will be done for presents for next year!!!

Once There Was A Snow Man...

Once there was a snow man that couldn't melt! It snowed last night and the kids wanted to go out and play but sometimes it is just too freakn' cold. They wanted to build a snow man. So we found a way to let them without the cold. Just out of cotton balls and glue. Add a some little eyes and pipe cleaners for arms and another successful craft that entertains for about an hour.

January Birthday Card

This is Januarys card for Close To My Heart. The card is 6x6 and the paper is Aspen Paper Kit.
This stamp is so cute! My mom ordered it last month and I asked her if we could use it. It is called "New Fallen Snow." I love the beautiful detailed snow flakes.

This winter I discovered what fun you can have with the White Daisy Ink and Marker. This marker is awesome! It goes on clear and as it drys it turns white. I sound like a little kid but it is so fun to play with and see it change magically before your eyes!

Kid Inspired Snowflakes

Your kids are always inspiration. So I was scrapn' and Deegan wanted to keep putting his hands in the white ink. And this idea came to me. Let Him! so we took turns putting our hands in the ink and made snowflakes. We just used the white ink on blue paper. Then I cut around them. Make sure you use washable ink. I also put their names and the date on them. Then I added tape so they could stick them to the window. It was fun, easy and minimal mess! And no two will be the same!!!!

Kids Christmas Craft

So my pictures are backwards. This is the finished project. We made Christmas Trees! I cut out the trees and they punched holes in the paper. Then I glued a yellow tree behind it so it would look like lights on the tree. Then they colored noodles and glued them on. We also glued on fuzzy balls, some little bells and sequins. Then we added the star on top. It was easy and fast. The best part was it entertained for at least an hour!

Another awesome idea for an advent calendar, thanks to Renee. This is a metal tray and the little boxes are match boxes emptied out, then decorated. To get them to stick just add a magnet to the back and some yummy candy inside. Voila!

Lastest and Greatest

This is what I was working on last week. It is an advent calendar for Christmas Countdown. Jen saw it featured on KSL Studio 5. It was an idea from Heartland paper. It is just a mini muffin tin decorated. Each number has magnets to keep it on. Then you put the candy behind the number. The only thing I haven't finished it drilling holes in the top to hand it from some ribbon. Also I need to make a little magnet that says, "Christmas Countdown." Both websites are under my favorites.

December Neighbor Gift

For Christmas we are always trying find gifts for family but when you add in friends and neighbors it can get a little pricey so these are an inexpensive way to give a little something. They are just jelly jars. A circle paper cut and glued to the top. Decorative paper layered around the middle. We used a stamp set from Close To My Heart for the tag and the middle. To add a little sparkle we used liquid glass (from Close to my Heart) on some of the words and sprinkled glitter on top of it. Also a little sparkle to the tag. Tied with ribbon. To finish it off add your favorite treat inside. You could put in any kind of Christmas candy or make your own. Another idea you could add hot chocolate and a candy cane on the outside. I found white chocolate with candy cane kisses. They are really good!

Give Thanks Card

This was Novembers activity a fall thank you card. The leaves are from a Close to My Heart Stamp set. This set is really neat because you stamp the leaf then the veins are a separate stamp you stamp on top.

October Craft

For October we saw this cute idea on Tausha's blog, so thanks Tausha. We got a plate from the dollar store and painted it black, The middle paper was modge podged on. The circles and buttons were hot glued on. The spooky was from the circut and the cobweb ands spiders were from a really cute stamp set from Close to my Heart!

My mother made this at relief society and it is so cute. It would be pretty easy to make. Another idea to add would be think of a couple of words that use most of the same letters so you could change it around.
